Christmas is Coming

HYVÄÄ JOULUA Kaikille!!

(Merry Christmas Everyone)

This Thanksgiving, instead of turkey and leftovers, Jason and I opted for Glühwein and Christmas Markets! We made our way through Frankfurt, Mainz, Wiesbaden, Koblenz, and Cologne where each city offered its own main market, plus smaller clusters of stalls tucked into courtyards, plazas, and winding side streets.

We warmed our hands on cups of Glühwein and sampled an impressive variety of regional treats, including sausages fresh off the grill, roasted spiced nuts, soft pretzels, creamy Käsespätzle, and crisp Kartoffelpuffer.

The trip brought back wonderful memories of visiting markets with Owen and Cora during our years in England, and it made the start of the holiday season feel especially nostalgic. Hard to believe how fast time goes.

We also managed to carve out time to visit a few historic sites and museums along the way.
